Gwyneth Herbert
The Guardian called Herbert’s jazz contralto voice one that ‘vibrated over the lyrics in a way that makes your toes curl’. Letters I Haven’t Written was a private confession album that required a design that spoke of emptiness, heartbreak and the blankness which comes with the loss of losing somebody close. Inside, an on-disc aeroplane image—a symbol of escape locks in with the inlay graphic.
